Nyumnyums: Fish Fry Eat RepEat

This sequence is a playful short I built around the idea of the endless hunt for Nyumnyums. Fish Fry Eat RepEat.
I chose LEGO bricks as the visual medium — there’s something timeless and universally fun about them. And in 3D, they give me the flexibility to build stories brick by brick, while still keeping the design language tight and modular.
Modeling & Assets: I started with sets from Mecabricks then customized and re-textured them to match the mood and color scheme I envisioned.
Lighting: A big focus here was creating depth and atmosphere through lighting. I experimented with gobos to get those subtle patterned shadows that add richness to the scene.
Rendering & Tools: All built in Cinema 4D and rendered with Redshift.
Process: This was a quick project — made over about three days. I used it as an opportunity to refine my look-dev and animation workflow while still keeping the story compact.
I’ve been slowly developing a full LEGO short film for the last few years. While that project takes time, these smaller sequences are a way to keep experimenting, producing consistently, and sharing the little worlds I build along the way.
